Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you play for?
For our standard fee we play 2 x 1 hour sets.
There is usually a break in the middle for around 45 minutes.
e.g. from just after 8pm ish – 11pm with around 45 mins break, we can stop at whatever time suits your event. Times are tailored to your event.
N.B. We will be at the venue for a maximum of 5 hours (this includes the set up and pack down time) for our standard fee. If we are to be there any longer, we will have to charge more.
If there is a break, we can play music through the PA system while the break is taking place. (Or you can supply the music if you wish on a phone or tablet).
What are we to expect at the gig?
We have a dedicated caller who instructs the dances.
We usually start with a few ceilidh dances and then play a couple of songs or tunes to give people a rest from dancing and carry on like that throughout the evening, adjusting what we play to suit the audience. We have a selection of covers, folk tunes and original music to play in between dances.
How long will you need to set-up?
We take approximately 1hour to set up all the equipment, it depends on how close we can park to unload and the layout or type of venue.
It is essential the stage is clear to allow us enough time to set up.
Do I need to have previous experience of Ceilidh dancing?
No experience is needed. Our caller will explain / walk you through the dances on the evening of the Ceilidh and will call out the steps to begin with while you are getting used to the dance steps.
